Thought I would share this conversation between myself and this random guy who friend requested me in 2005. Apparently, three years later rejection is easier to handle? Be sure to read from the bottom up.
lol you're still ugly.

Since you brought to my attention that I may be being a bitch, I sent the following message to everyone I sent the message about friend requests to:
"So, it has come to my attention that the message I send out about friend requests may be bitchy- which was definetly not my intention....so I apologize- I merely like to get to know something about someone or hear from them in addition to the friend request so that I am adding friends and not faces. Sorry if it seemed snobby! :) "
Hopefully that clears up my intentions to all whom I may have offended, including yourself. My Jay Leno chin and I will be going to bed- so have a good night.....

FUCK you for making assumptions you uptight asshole! You don't know me! My apologies for trying to get to know people instead of adding them to my friends page for no reason, but I don't want a page full of 1500 faces. I have no problem adding people, I just like to know that I am adding friends not faces. Take your fucking miserable existence out on someone else.....

Ok, so I love that I get a TON of friend requests, but I have to weed out the "happy clickers".....maybe you can help me out....
If you reply to this e-mail with a reason why I should add you to my page, other than to have another face on it, I will add you to my friend list. Otherwise, I'll assume you are part of the "Happy Clicker Club" and will leave you off of it. Nothing personal, I just don't want to have 1,000 faces on my page and not know any of them.

one of the three unmentionables............
........at least as far as dinner topics of conversation go.
Politics.
I will keep my opinion on the subject short & to the point. While I claim to be neither republican or democrat at this point, I can say with confidence that it deeply frustrates me to the core that supporters of one race or another focus on what the "other candidate" did to slip up or things they disagree with from the other party. It is, however, a rare occasion that I hear what policy, viewpoint & "change" either candidate intends to implement that will actually help our country get back on it's feet.
Supporters of your parties: Please focus on what counts & what policy your preferred candidate plans to support rather than their campaign message or empty promises (as I can assure you no politician follows through on their word on every aspect).
I loathe hearing one more word about Obama or McCain from the non-supporting party. Tell me what your candidate of choice is good at or planning to do, not what the other cannot or does not intend to do. The shortcomings of one candidate (as they both have them) are not what will matter when our President leads us as there will only be ONE president. I want to know what that man will do when he gets there.
Thank you. That is all. (Puts soap box in cupboard).

OutRAGEous
Yep, I'm going to rant. I am researching legislation to fight an unfair credit gouge by WaMu, and I come across this comment from an industry employee:
Original article if you are interested in reading:
http://redtape.msnbc.com/2007/01/debit_cards_fue.html
"Well, it was a relatively interesting article, however, they make the banks out to be the bad guys.
We're just collecting money on people's stupidity.
It's not that hard to balance a check book, and the article makes it out like it is just the most difficult thing in the world.
All you have to do is record what you spend your money on, get online banking, and take advantage of the free 800-number
every bank provides for you. We don't WANT you to overdraft, but, we won't stop you from being stupid, either."
Of course these comments are anonymous, and even better, there are over 800, indicative to me that my response would be lost. So I am posting it here:
Macie: "That's a brilliant comment. Riddle me this, joker: exactly how is it that your brilliant creative money-making scheme by raping fees from "stupid" consumers landed your industry in bankruptcy? Couldn't you have run a statement of cash-flows? Or perhaps checked your BALANCE SHEET? I guess it actually is harder when you don't have the 800 number.... After all, you only need to record how much money you are loaning out and bring in more than you give away. We don't WANT to bail you out, but your stupidity has cost us without our consent. It would be fantastic if we actually got the stock we are "loaning" to you dickweeds or the dividends on the profit you made by jacking up NSF fees and approving credit without regard to the Truth in Lending Act.
Now that we have so graciously bailed you out, I wonder what our loan terms should be....perhaps we will send you an email every day with our never-ending list of changes to our conditions for allowing you shitheads to stay in business and continue to rape those who saved you. Instead of bailing out you fucknuts, we should be using that "loan" money to pay out consumers for their losses & restore their homes, while burying you banking assholes with Ken Lay and the rest of the Enron crew.
By the way, are you still employed, smarty-pants?

Dear Prince Charming,
If you someday decide to ride up on your white horse, please message me for my address. In the meantime, if you are ignorant, blind, anti-chivalry, incompetent, or blatantly oblivious to how to treat a woman, please circle my apartment complex until you figure it out.
Not acceptable:
1) Calling a woman you just met 11 times in one night.
2) Failing to mention you are married
3) Forgetting I have a child
4) Calling me out of the blue (knowing I have to get a sitter to go out) to ask if I can meet you, telling me in the message that if I can't make it, there is no need to call you back, and then telling me I am "coming off ignorant" for not calling you back.
5) Crying and telling me how much you care about me and will miss me, and then blowing me off entirely for the rest of my life. Put my knee jamming into your nuts in that compartment of your mind.
6) Texting me with "thanks for ignoring my text". That's a great line; you are so hard to resist...
7) Text a woman for three months, yet you still haven't actually come up with something great to do & actually asked her to do it on a specific date/time. Grow a set, seriously. Men with three inch pen*ses have more gusto than you do...
8) Yelling of any kind.
9) Making it so entirely obvious that you are interested that I cannot have a conversation with anyone else in the group without you monopolizing the topic.
10) Ask me to "meet up" with you when you have a live-in girlfriend and we have not "hung out" in over two years. Although at least this demonstrates that some men have a set....
Stay tuned as well for : "she's just not that into you"

Exactly how I feel right now....
threw you the obvious and you flew
with it on your back, a name in your recollection,
thrown down among a million same.
difficult not to feel a little bit disappointed
and passed over
when i've looked right through
to see you naked and oblivious
and
you don't see me.but i threw you the obvious
just to see if there's more behind the eyes
of a fallen angel,
the eyes of a tragedy.
here i am expecting just a little bit
too much from the wounded.
but i see through it all
and see you.
so i threw you the obvious
to see what occurs behind the eyes of a fallen angel,
eyes of a tragedy.
oh well. apparently nothing.
you don't see me.
you don't see me at all.
Thanks Maynard, for saying it better than I could've.

Read between the eyeliner
The view is patchwork quilted curtain; the smell of sweat and alcohol is permeating. The crowd is anxiously teeming, but with excitement that overrules all other sentiment. My feet hurt. I could blame my heels, but instead I blame the lunch box-toting, shit-kicker wearing, punk band that just played. The lights are dimming and paroxysmal excitement invokes breathlessness. I know just what to expect.
Patchwork cuts to stage. Enter: Unwritten Law; rock stars extraordinaire (and my personal favorite!). As the band walks out on the stage my focus zeroes in on Scott Russo, the one man on this planet whose very presence can trigger an orgastic overtaking of my mind, body and body (yes, that's body twice). As a special treat this evening, Scott has chosen to don a fedora. No eyeliner, yet I am not disappointed.
Everyone has a "type" when it comes to attractiveness (without reference to looks – at least for those of us eclectic enough to enjoy all physical characteristics). It took me years to understand the common denominator in all my interests (as physical characteristics ranged so vastly it seemed I didn't know what I wanted). And then it hit me: there is an "x factor" for each of us. We can't always put our finger on it, yet each person we've dated (or desired to), possesses it.
You see, x + y = z.
Y= the physical and other characteristics in another one finds attractive
Z= Chemistry (although we are still on math)
Then X would be the unknown. In mathechemisex (the mathematics of the chemistry behind sexuality; a Mace-ism), x is unknown only to the extent that it varies among individuals. We all have an x factor and it has to be there to complete the equation.
Ask me what my x factor is, and I'll tell you: Eyeliner. If you are thinking the blog is regarding what most view as my eyeliner fetish, my friend, you have terribly misread thus far. You see, the x-factor here is not the eyeliner. The eyeliner may represent the physical "x" but it is what x corresponds to that counts.
In my equation, x = confidence. It's quite simple mathechemisex when you think about it. I am attracted to Scott Russo, sure. If I saw him walking down the street sans eyeliner or fedora and had no clue he was in a band I'd likely still give him the once over, but then move on. But add the eyeliner (stage & band-playing must accompany) and you have unmatched attraction to that confidence.
Not to say every fellow who dons eyeliner hits my radar. I have nothing for Alice Cooper, any of the New York Dolls, or 80s hair bands. Just put x and y together and I am "done". You just need to read between the eyeliner.

Blahg
I have a glass of cabernet next to me and am wrapping up some work for the night. It was not an unusually stressful day, but then I am getting used to that. In fact, every day seems about the same.
I let my fingers do the talking most days when I sit to blog except that lately there isn't much to say. I suppose I could go on about my adorable son, the only boy/man I'll likely ever love without caring how much he hurts me. I won't blame him years down the road when he tells me how I screwed his life up because that's the way mother-son relationships work. All children believe they can parent better than those they were given and I doubt my son will be any exception. I am ok with that.
Parenting aside, tonight I cannot think of anything except that I simply have nothing to say (outside of my rambling), which concerns me. I always have something to say. Lately I don't answer the phone because I am not sure what I would talk about. That is not to say that I do nothing. I have a full, active life that I love. I know I do, but for some reason I can't feel it. Not emotionally per se, but I just don't feel anything lately.
I love life. Not to say every day is a rainbow, but I am the kind of girl who belts out Mariah in the car as though I am not in falsetto and doesn't care who sees. I act on impulse typically. I admit as a mother that is not usually the best quality, however, I miss that.
Where did I go? You would think that I am leading you to believe that I am depressed. I might think so if I didn't know any better. I am simply busy. Truly, I rarely have time to indulge in a book, drink a glass of cabernet or dash off to a cabaret. I work, which I love - in small doses. Just not in 55 hour week doses.
I wish the Keebler elves existed. I would pay the little gents to do my dishes, sweep my floors, do my laundry, wash my car, run my son to daycare (my mom's), work my overtime, respond to my emails, water my plant, pay my bills, buy my groceries, and so on.
What would I do in the meantime? Play monster bowling with my son. Play guitar hero. Play my piano. Play soccer or tennis, or both. Go to the beach at night for a bonfire. Read a book in one sitting. Sleep. Travel. Catch more bands.
This, I see now, is why parenting alone sucks. It's not the responsibility, or the kid, or the housework, or the job. It's all of it at once. I have to be mother & father. So I can't be as emotionally attached to my son as most women get or I'll miss him every minute of every day. I can't be as emotionally thick as a man or he'll never get the nurturing he needs. I can't ignore my own desires or I'll be miserable. It's walking a fine tightrope that requires more balance than I've ever needed. Sometimes I wonder how I do it. And I don't mean that as a pat on the back, I mean literally. It's no wonder I don't feel anything anymore. I haven't the time to be anything but tired.
I think I need a housekeeper.
